Calculators, Estate Planner and other tools
Our calculators, Estate Planner, package finder, tax answers and deadline reminders give general estimates using published rates. They are not tax, legal or financial advice and do not create a client relationship. You are responsible for the figures you enter and for checking results before relying on them. See our Disclaimer.
Our services and fees
Prices shown on this website are a guide and start from the amounts shown. A client relationship begins only when we accept your instruction in writing, usually in an engagement letter that sets out the scope, fees and responsibilities. If the engagement letter and these terms differ, the engagement letter applies. Fees are payable as set out in your engagement letter or invoice.
Cancellations and refunds
You may cancel an engagement by notice in writing. You will be charged for work done and costs incurred up to cancellation; any amount paid in advance for work not yet done will be refunded within 30 days. Fees paid to third parties (for example SARS, CIPC or the Master) are not refundable by us. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, where it applies.
Copyright and intellectual property

The content of this website, including its text, design, layout, graphics, logos, branding, articles, calculators, the Estate Planner and the underlying software, is owned by or licensed to us and is protected by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978 and other laws. No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, modified or used to create derivative works without our prior written consent.
The SAIT and CIBA logos belong to those bodies and are shown to indicate our membership. Other names and marks belong to their owners.

Links to SARS, CIPC and other websites are for convenience. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content or availability.
Limitation of liability
The website is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the website or its tools, or from reliance on its content, including losses caused by errors, omissions, changes in law or rates, interruptions or viruses. This does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, such as for gross negligence, or your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. Our liability for professional services is governed by your engagement letter.
Indemnity
You indemnify us against claims, losses and costs arising from your breach of these terms or your unlawful use of the website.
Electronic communications
You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, and that electronic communications meet any legal requirement for writing, as provided in the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002. Information you send us through the website is received when it reaches our mail server.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it within 20 business days. If it is not resolved, either party may refer it to mediation, or to a South African court with jurisdiction. Complaints about professional conduct may also be referred to SAIT or CIBA.
General
We may change these terms at any time; the version on the website applies when you use it. If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in force. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
